We are Hopping to Help!

Wellington Academy is Hopping to Help!

On March 2, the students of Wellington Academy in Fort Myers participated in their annual Hop-a-Thon to benefit MDA. The students spent three weeks learning about people with special needs and participating in special disability awareness activities. Then, on March 2nd, 150 students ages 2 to 5 years old gathered on the playground to hop, hop, hop to the music.

Together with their families, the students collected $875.00 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The top fundraiser was four years old Kailey Morgan who raised $270.00. Kailey even made a video asking for donations that her parents posted on YouTube to show family and friends. Way to go, students and families of Wellington Academy!

The students and families at our North Cape Coral school also had an amazing month!! The children in our Developmental 2, 3, and 4 classrooms have been busy raising money for MDA! They spent time learning all about helping others. The children raised over $800 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. We are so proud of their accomplishment. Thanks to the parents making the Hop A Thon successful!

The South Cape Coral school will be holding their Hop-a-Thon next month. Good luck to all of the little hoppers!

A Hop-a-Thon is a brilliant and fun way for everyone to get involved in raising money for a charity. If you are looking to hold a fundraiser but need an idea to get you kickstarted, you could visit www.gofundme.com for some help with fundraising ideas. Raising money for those who really need it is a very rewarding thing to do – just ask the students!

This month, we are learning all about Transportation… Lots of learning and fun activities are on the horizon!! We are looking forward to next month with all of our Easter activities. Reminder to parents….now is a great time to start working on those Easter bonnets!
